The Prospects of Knowledge Management: from human-based practices to Artificial Intelligence in KIBS

27.10.2023, 09:00

The event delves into the evolving landscape of knowledge management within Knowledge-Intensive Business Services (KIBS) Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). Beginning with an introduction to the critical role of knowledge management in these organizations, we highlight the challenges faced by traditional human-based practices, including the difficulty in capturing tacit knowledge and coping with employee turnover. The outputs of the research developed across Europe on the contemporary KM practices in KIBS will also be discussed. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a game changer in business, and not only. We will explore its applications in knowledge management. Real-world case studies illustrate how KIBS SMEs are already leveraging AI for knowledge management. We discuss both the promises and challenges of AI implementation, touching on data privacy, security, and the need for employee training. The discussion provides insights into future trends and emphasizes the importance of building a knowledge-ready culture to embrace the AI-driven future of knowledge management in KIBS SMEs. Finally, we open the floor for questions and discussions to foster a deeper understanding of this transformative topic.
